About 3 Bricks Shy

The band officially came into existence in November of 2012. Songwriters Rick Lally and Shay Ryburn both had solo music released before they joined forces performing as Rick and Shay. Melinda Highfill joined them on various songs in the studio and on many different occasions during live performances. Melinda joined the team full-time in the summer of 2012 for the release party of both Rick's and Shay's solo albums. After a couple of months worth of brain storming for a band name they decided they were - 3 Bricks Shy! For Sure! Plus it was the only band name they all could agree upon.

As a band we always try to push out a fun & positive vibe with our audience and listeners! One person that introduced them at the start of a concert said he can't help but feel happy when he hears their music.

So they started as an acoustic trio including Melinda Highfill, Rick Lally and Shay Ryburn. They released their debut self-titled album in September 2013. Their second album STILL 3 BRICKS SHY released in July 2015. In the fall of 2015 they added guitarist Daniel Hamilton on lead guitar. They've been described as Funky, Bluesy, Rock, Americana Pop! Their songs tend to slide across genres. The best way to describe them is by hearing a few things our fans have to say!

Much more authentic than what you hear on country radio stations these days!

Waterfall is such a feel-good guitar experience. Voice and lyrics are great. Damn good music!

Fun, light, bright and witty. That's how I would describe the music of 3 Bricks Shy. - Michael Stone
